Imitating Sahaba (Radiyallahu Anhum) in plays

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

  1. In madrasa Jalsa is it permissible for children or adults to do a play where they act as a Sahabi R.A or a pious elder?
  2. If it isn’t permissible what is the reason?

A: The kitaabs of aqaaid have recorded that if people enact a play for the sake of entertainment where one person assumes to be a great aalim or a mufti and people are referring to him for deeni issues and he is answering them then these kitaabs say that all of them have become kaafir.
