Living in Zina

Q: My sister is living unmarried with her non muslim boyfriend. Yesterday, she gave birth to his son. They named their Son Job. Now people start to congratulate me because of this. Saying Mubarak and so on.  I don’t like to be congratulated by this occurring. Actually, I don’t want to have anything to do with this. How should I react according to our Islamic adab? Furthermore, Should my parents do the aqiqa for this grandchild? Because my sister is not intending to do so. And is it legitimate for them, to give him an Islamic name?

A: It is haraam for her to remain with the non Muslim boy. As long as they remain together, they are remaining perpetually in zina and sin. The child born from such a haraam relationship is obviously of illegitimate stock. All those who condone your sister’s relationship with the non Muslim boy and congratulate her upon the birth of the child are sinful according to Shari’ah. The thing your parents should be more concerned about than the aqeeqah which is a preferable act is saving your sister’s Imaan and saving her from moving towards the fire of jahannum.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
