When are duas accepted?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

  1. Are Duas accepted yes or no – my answer would be 1) Its answered now 2) It may be answered in future 3) You will get it answered in Hereafter.
  2. What about statements (ahadeeth) ALLAH has forgiven and made you enter jannah and saved you from Hell.  Its like Jesus pbuh dying on cross or something a little like that.

A:

  1. It can be accepted in all these ways.
  2. This is a gross misunderstanding. This is a compensation for the good deeds that the same individual has done and crucifixion is a totally different thing. Crucifixion of the Christians is where one person takes on the punishment of the other.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
