Can the dead hear and see?

Q: When a person dies does her or his spirit exists afterwards? Do spirits hear or see us? Do they exist in this world?

A: After death, the dead are given life in the grave though the living cannot perceive their life. It is possible for the dead to see or hear the living by the will of Allah Ta’ala, though this is not a rule.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
