Removing the sixth finger

Q: Is it good or bad to cut one of the fingers through surgery if your daughter had six fingers?

A: It is permissible to remove the sixth finger through surgery. 

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

إذا أراد الرجل أن يقطع إصبعا زائدة أو شيئا آخر قال نصير رحمه الله تعالى إن كان الغالب على من قطع مثل ذلك الهلاك فإنه لا يفعل وإن كان الغالب هو النجاة فهو في سعة من ذلك  (الفتاوى الهندية 5/360)
