Disturbing Dream: Hijaab, Flame, and Allahu Akbar – Interpretation Needed

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I had a disturbing dream last night and wish for Mufti to please interpret this for me. I am in Hijaab. I saw myself at a gathering. Someone asked me to move to another spot to sit. As I walked across I was tieing my scarf again, and as I turned it around, the bottom end of the scarf hit the light bulb and caught alight. It was a small little flame and I tried to hit it off with my hand, but it did not go off. I then recited Allahu Akbar loudly a few times, and the flame died off immediately. Please can you tell me what this possibly means?

A: You should be very cautious about the functions and gatherings you attend which are against the Sunnah. Fire refers to the sin and the impermissible activities that take place. The only recourse a Mu’min has in saving himself from falling into sin and earning the displeasure of Allah Ta’ala is that he or she strictly observes purdah, refrains from sin and remains committed to the Sunnah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
