Reciting the tasbeeh of ruku’ and sajdah only once

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I would like to know, is it necessary to do sajda-e-sahw if we pray “Subhanarabiyal azim “only once in ruku instead of three times, also if we mistakenly pray “subhanarabiyalala” only once instead of three times in sajda?

A: The Salaah is valid even though one only recited the tasbeeh once in ruku and sajdah. Sajdah-e-sahw will not be waajib. However it is sunnat for one to recite the tasbeeh at least three times in ruku’ and sajdah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
