Marrying a Christian or Jewish woman

Q: Can you make nikaah with a Christian woman? What are the rules in regard to marrying a Christian or Jewish woman?

bismillah.jpg

A: On account of the serious complications that come about through marrying Christian or Jewish women (e.g. the great fear of a person being influenced towards kufr and his offspring being exposed to kufr and anti Islamic values and in the case of divorce the custody of the children going to the mother), our Ulama’ have strongly discouraged marrying Christian or Jewish women.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
