I am worried because my daughter is not getting married

Q: My daughter will turn 28 on July 2013. I am worried about her marriage. Many people send proposals but nothing accomplishes. My brother was divorced about 20 years ago and his ex wife got married again. My daughter was about six or seven years old. At that time my brothers mother in law told me “Inshallah you will see the result of this divorce”. I think her bad Dua is haunting me. Please tell me what should I read if in reality there is a bad dua after my daughter. She had a nikah two years ago and that also turned in to a mutual paper talaq. There was no rukhsati. Please help in this matter.

A: A Mu’min, in whichever condition he/she may be, should turn to Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى). The solutions of all problems lie in the hands of Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى). In order for one to receive the mercy of Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) and barkat in one’s life, one should ensure that he/she is leading a life according to the Sunnah and not displeasing Allah Ta’ala at any time. Tell your daughter to be conscious of observing purdah, guarding the eyes and the tongue and performing the five daily Salaah on it’s prescribed time. Ask her to recite رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيْر after her five daily Salaah and constantly make dua that Allah Ta’ala bless her with a pious husband.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
