Law forbids halal slaugher of animals

Q: In my home country the law forbids halal slaugher of animals. Is it permissible for the Muslims to halal slaughter animals secretly in these two scenarios:

  1. If imported halal meat is available on the market
  2. If no halal meat at all is available on the market

A: If you are quiet sure that the meat imported is halaal and acquired from halaal sources, then it is permissible for you to consume that meat. However in both cases it is permissible for you according to Shari’ah to slaughter. You should adopt such means whereby you will be saved from legal implications.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
