Muqtadi committing a makrooh action intentionally

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: If the follower (muqtadi) intentionally omits a necessary action (wajib) or intentionally commits an action that is prohibitively disliked (makruh tahriman) while praying behind the imam, is it necessary (wajib) for him or her to repeat the prayer? Things like leaving out at-Tahiyyaat, or reciting behind imam, reciting at-Tahiyyaat twice etc.

A: It is impermissible for him to do such a thing, and this will cause his salaah to become deficient. However, the salaah will be valid and  sajda-e-sahw will not be compulsory upon him.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
