Q: I was bored. I thought I may as well as masturbate (naoodhoobillah). It’s a sin only & not kufr & therefore I can enjoy now & make tauba later. Hence I masturbated. Now I do feel such remorse &, in particular, fear of kufr. I have vowed never to do this sin again. Would this be kufr & invalidate nikah?
A: Taking any sexual benefit and pleasure from one’s body through masturbation etc. is impermissible. You should sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for committing this sin, and make a firm resolve that you will not return to this sin in the future. This will not amount to kufr and nor will it break the nikaah.
And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
