Salawaat Tunjeena: Cure or Shirk?

Q: Is the Salawaat Tunjeena appropriate or is it Shirk? it’s supposed to be a cure for many things etc.

A: It is not shirk. It is permissible to recite this durood provided one does not regard it as a sunnah. As far as durood is concerned, there is no doubt in it being virtuous and greatly rewarding. Similarly, there is no doubt in the benefit people have received through reciting this durood. However, these benefits are not proven through the Hadith, instead it is proven through the experience of individuals.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
