Making Jamaat with one’s female household and not going to the Musjid

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Will the jamaat with the female household exclude one from all the severe warnings?

A: From the general wording of the hadeeth it will appear that this will not guard him against the warning of leaving out jamaat. Hence, Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) had intended to burn the homes of those who did not attend the musjid jamaat salaah. They could have very easily said that they are doing jamaat with their families at home. The sahaabah and the pious of the past did not regard this as a substitute and equivalent for musjid jamaat.
