Is it Okay to Use Middle Finger for Anal Cleaning During Fasting?

Q: When we clean ourself after passing stool, is it ok to insert the middle finger of the left hand into our anus as part of the cleaning, to make sure that no dirt is left, and if we do this during fasting will the fast break?

A: 

1. It is permissible.
2. If the moist finger was inserted slightly, the fast will not break. However, if the moist finger reached the place where the enema is inserted, the fast will break.

قال في الدر المختار ولو بالغ في الاستنجاء حتى بلغ موضع الحقنة فسد و هذا قلما يكون ولو كان فيورث داء عظيما اه قال الشامي ثم في بعض النسخ المحقنة بالميم و هي أولى قال في الفتح و الحد الذي يتعلق بالوصول إليه الفساد قدر المحقنة اه أي قدر ما يصل إليه رأس المحقنة التي هي آلة الاحتقان و على الأول فالمراد الموضع الذي ينصب منه الداء إلى الأمعاء اه (رد المحتار 2/397)
