How many days stay in Madinah and Makkah is advisable?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Our intention is to go for Umrah with 2 daughters aged 13 and 3. How many days stay in Madinah and Makkah is advisable?

Bismillaah

A: It is advisable to spend that amount of time in the Holy Lands (Makkah Mukarrama and Madinah Munawwarah) whereby the maximum benefit can be achieved and the respect and sanctity of the Mubaarak place is not compromised. One should try and perform forty salaah consecutively in the masjid of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in order to acquire the virtue that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaih wasallam) has mentioned in his Mubaarak Hadith.

It is reported by Anas (Radiallahu Anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who performs forty Salaah (consecutively) in my Masjid receives two certificates (guarantee of freedom). The first, from the fire of Jahannum and the second from hypocrisy.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
