Reading the last two rakaats nafil of Esha seated

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I know that it is a sunnah to read the last 2 nafl of esha salah seated. Should one always do this, or should it be done occasionally only? Does this apply to the nawafil of dhuhr and maghrib as well?

Bismillaah

A: If one performs the last two rakaats nafil of Esha sitting (without a valid excuse), one will receive half the reward of standing. Similar is the case of the two rakaats nafil of Zuhr and Maghrib.
