Q: Will the obligation of sadaqatul fitr fall away if one did not discharge it on the day of Eid-ul-fitr?
A: It is not correct for one to delay in discharging the sadaqatul fitr. However if one delayed then he should discharge it as soon as possible.
يستحب إخراجها قبل الخروج إلى المصلى و صح لو قدم أو أخر والتأخير مكروه و قال الطحطاوى: قوله (أو أخر) فوقتها موسع لا يضيق إلا في آخر العمر (حاشية الطحطاوى ص725, الدر المختار مع رد المحتار 2/358)
