Contraception in Islam: Permissible or Prohibited?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is using methods of contraception (condoms, tablets, etc) allowed in Islam?

Bismillaah

A: If the contraceptive measures are not harmful to the health nor does it terminate a foetus that is already in the process of development and nor is it done for wrong reasons, then it will be permissible.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
