Black Magic and Family Troubles: Seeking Solutions for Barkat and Peace of Mind

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My mom feels someone is doing black magic on her and our family. She feels like she is about to die on four separate occasions during the day. She feels like this after fajr, after isha, at 12 AM as well as 12 PM. We’re currently living in the USA but we are originally from Pakistan. We’re building a new home in Pakistan, therefore the old house was torn down to build the new one. During the construction we found taveez hidden away in a piece of furniture. It had hair in it, names of the family members as well as something written in Arabic. My mom feels like there is no barkat in the home especially when it comes to wealth – it’s as if its fleeting away. We’ve also looked at getting married, however things start but it gets nowhere. It’s easy to find a rishta in Pakistan if you are from abroad and have a good career but for us there is no fruition. My mother and I pray 5 times a day. We read the last three Quls as well as Ayat ul kursi. My mother also reads Manzil everyday as well. Is there any wazifa or anything for us to do or read in this situation so we can have barkat and peace of mind?

Bismillaah

A: A Mu’min, in whichever condition he may be, should turn to Allah Ta’ala. The solutions of all problems lie in the hands of Allah Ta’ala. In order for one to receive the mercy of Allah Ta’ala and barkat in his life, one should ensure that he is leading a life according to the Sunnah and not displeasing Allah Ta’ala at any time. Be conscious of observing purdah, guarding the eyes and the tongue and performing the five daily Salaah in the Musjid with Jamaat on it’s prescribed time. Ensure that you always remain in pious company so that you are not lured towards sin. May Allah Ta’ala assist you in your difficulties and bless you with happiness and contentment.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
