Marriage, Masturbation, and Islam: Exploring Permissible Pleasures

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My question is that I have been married since 2004. She is often busy with kids and we don’t find time to have pleasures with each other. Masturbation is not allowed in Islam but if your wife lets you masturbate with her own hands is it allowed. Secondlly, after having long intervals is it allowed to masturbate with using hands like while taking shower throw water on penis to feel satisfied or relaxed and to avoid wrong doings outside?

Bismillaah

A: It is not permissible for one to derive any haraam pleasure from one’s own body (e.g. through masturbation). However it is permissible for the wife to masturbate the husband.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
