Marrying a person whose beliefs are wrong

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I’m in a relationship with a Muslim person who is sunni like me but his emaan is a bit wrong also against some things in Islam. I wanted to know if I can marry him? Even if I marry, will it count as a nikaah or not?

Bismillaah

A: When the imaan is wrong then how can you marry a person whose imaan is not right. A little wrong in imaan is not tolerated and the little wrong can amount to disbelief.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
