Distributing Wealth: Planning for No Children in Your Will

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: We got no children and I want to make a will. How would I distribute my wealth among my wife mother sister and 2 brothers and their children?

Bismillaah

A: If the only surviving heirs at the time of your death are your two brothers, one sister, mother and one wife, then the estate will be divided into 60 equal shares and distributed as follows:

Wife will receive 15 shares

Mother will receive 10 shares

Each brother will receive 14 shares

Sister will receive 7 shares

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
