Dealing with Anger and Divorce: My Experience with Talaq

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Once me and my wife was rude (in ghazab) to each other and I beat her and then she also beat me which made me too angry and then she said give me talaq and as I was too angry I said Talaq, talaq, talaq. I don’t know whether that was two times or three time, but I didn’t tell her that you are talaaq, I just repeated the talaq word. This happened when we both were too angry (fighting with each other), while in fact both of us didn’t want this and we both love each other, So please instruct me in this regard?

Bismillaah

A: The talaaqs have fallen. All the talaaqs have taken place.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
