Joining Munfarid as Muqtadi

Question:

can person A join person B during his Salaat, who already started his Salaat and consider it as congregation. Knowing person B who initially started praying was praying ALONE, but the Muqtadi arrived late not during the Iqaamah? Is the Jamaat valid?

Answer:

This Jamaat will be valid on condition that Muqtadi makes intention of Iqtidaa (following the Imam). The imam does not have to make intention for the Imaamat to be correct. (Fataawaa Raheemiyah, Page 165 Vol. 1, Ad-Durrul Mukhtaar Page 309 Vol. 1)
