Q1-If a Female is in her period and she intends to travel more than 48 miles when will she be a Musaafir and when will she not be a Musaafir? could you please explain the Shari’ah rules regarding women traveling when they have there periods in detail with reference? Jazakallah Wassalaam Abdullah
Answer:
After the menstrual cycle is terminated, if 48 miles is yet to be covered, then she is considered as Musaafir and will shorten her Salaah. If 48 miles will not be covered after her cycle terminates, she will have to perform the complete Salaah. (Raddul Muhtaar, Vol. 1, Page 589, Bahishti Zewar, Vol. 2, Page 169)
