3. A person who follows the Hanafi school of thought, reads Jumu’ah Salaah in the Haram in Makkah & Madinah. Is it permissible for one to?

– raise their hands in Du’aa at the end of the Khutbah

– say Aameen during Du’aa at the end of the Khutbah

Answer:

1)      If he/she is travelling i.e. not staying at any place, then he/she does not have to read the remaining Salaah (Sunnahs) except the Sunnahs of Fajr and the Witr Salaah. If the person is a Musaafir, but is staying in a certain area then he/she should perform the remaining Salaah.

2)      He should not raise his hands in Du’aa; however he should say Aameen during the Du’aa. (Ad-Durrul Mukhtaar, Vol. 1, Page 496)

3)      After the Khutbah, before the Salaah we have not come across any sayings of the Fuqahaa with regards to raising the hands in the Du’aa, however there is concession to read Aameen in ones heart.
