Reciting Takbeers and Quran during salaah behind an Imaam

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. I would like to know what would you advise when it comes to reciting behind the imam for the silent prayers and when praying alone, should you recite all the takbeers in between each position?

A. As long as you are performing Salaah behind the Imaam, then the Imaam’s recitation will be sufficient for you (the Muqtadis – followers). This is the case for the loud Salaah and the silent Salaah. You will not have to recite any Quran. However, you will be required to recite the first Takbeer to begin Salaah (Takbeer At Tahreemah – silently) and then it will be sunnah for you to recite (silently) the other Takbeers in the other postures for Salaah (this is when you are performing Salaah behind the Imaam).

When you are performing Salaah alone, then you will have to recite everything, Quran, Takbeers, etc.

And Allah knows best.
