Pronouncing talaaq on your wife three times

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. If you pronounce talaaq on your wife three times can you remarry her and if not – how long do you have to provide maintenance for her.

A. If you pronounced talaaq on your wife three times, you will not be able to immediately marry her. At this time, she will begin her waiting period of three menses and during this period you will need to provide maintenance for her. After the waiting period, both of you will be required to go ‘separate ways’ since you will not be allowed to re-marry at this time. If you wish to re-marry your wife, then she will have to become married to another person, and after consummation of that marriage, if the person divorces her, then she will be required to begin a waiting period for that divorce. Upon completion of this waiting period, you will then be allowed to marry her.

And Allah knows best.
