Q: Is it sunnat to recite “Bismillah’ before Surah Faatiha in the 1st and 2nd rakat? And if this is not done then does Sajdah-e-Sahw become Wajib?

A: To recite “Bismillah” in Salah before Surah Fatiha is Sunnat. If a person does not read it, Sajda-e-Sahw will not become compulsory and his salah will be valid. However the Sunnah should not be discarded. (Aalamgiri:1,72-Badaai:1,204)
