What happens if one does a Makruh act over and over again

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

What happens if one does a Makruh act over and over again? Rather it be Makruh e tahrimi or makruh e tanzihi.

Answer:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

If a Makruh Tanzihi act is continuously repeated it does not become Makruh Tahrimi. However, if Makruh Tahrimi act is repeated it would become Haraam. It is similar to minor sins when it is done continuously, it will lead to major. (See Maariful Qur’an p.406- p.408 v.2)
