Do blood sugar injection tests break the wudhu

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

I am a student of the Quran and need to be in the state of wudhu in order to hold the book. However, I also have diabetes and I take blood sugar tests about 10 times a day. The details are as follows: I pierce the skin of my finger with a needle, whereby a small bubble of blood emerges (about 2 square mm). Sometimes the blood doesn’t come out by itself, but I have to force it out by pressing on the finger. The bubble of blood is so small that it doesn’t flow in any direction, even if I move my finger.
Do these blood sugar tests break the wudhu?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

The blood which comes out after an injection will break the wudhu even though it may be a little bubble. (Ahsanul Fatawa p.38 v.2, Nizamul Fatawa p.44 v.1 & Fatawa Rahimiyah p.268 v.4)
