If one has already read Asr salah then will it be permissible to read it behind her husband again?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

If one has already read Asr salah then will it be permissible to read it behind her husband again?

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

In the Hanafi Fiqh, if one reads the fardh prayers individually and then the call for congregation is made, then it is only permissible to join the congregation for the Zuhr and Isha salah with the intention of nafl.  It will not be permissible to join for the Fajr and Asr salah as it is Makruh Tahrimi to read optional prayers after the Fajr and Asr salah and the salah which one has read individually will be considered as fardh and the one being prayed in congregation as optional. Maghrib salah consists of three rakats and there are no three rakats optional salah.   (Dars Tirmizi p.482 v.1)
