Is there a committee or organization to ensure halal and haram in food courts in India?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
There is a very huge concern regarding halal and haram in food courts like pizza hut, dominos, KFC, Ohris and other food MNCs which are operating in India. Is there any committee or organization who looks after these things. If not, can we start one so that our Muslim brothers and sisters can be informed of what is halal and haram in food courts? Kindly look into this.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1688/1361/B=1433)

If you have any doubt in the food stuff of any company like pizza and other things whether it is halal or haram then two pious and religious Muslims should visit the company and observe what ingredients are used to prepare the same. So, if any haram thing is used in any food then it shall not be lawful and halal to eat, sell it as per the Shariah. But if you learnt after the observation that no haram ingredient was used then eating and selling is lawful. Yes, if there is any doubt in the adulteration of haram then you should avoid it.
