Should I read Imam Gazali’s “Kimiya al-Sa’adat” without guidance from a scholar?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I was about to read Imam Gazali’s “Kimiya al-Sa’adat” Alchemy of Happiness, translated version but some of my friends suggested that this book contains contents related to kufr and teaches about singing and dancing which are against the Shariah. Please guide me can I read this book by myself or I need guidance of some scholars as it is advised that reading books on Tasawwuf needs guidance of some scholar.

You can read this book. It is very nice book for one’s inner purity. However, if you find any doubt or vagueness or some complication, then you should consult the Ulama.
