Asalau Alykum Warahmatallah Wabarakatahu, First of all accept my heartiest congratulations on starting this website for,i was looking for such a site for quite long , although there are a few sites but the authenticity of their futwas is debatable as their affiliations, associations and madhabs are not known to us. JazakAllahuKhir, My question is that I am living away form my home and for this I didn?t usually get a nutritious and balanced food and for the same I have developed certain deficiencies and My doctor has advised me to take Iron and Vitamin Supplements. These Capsules are however packaged in Gelatin Shells, which have animal origin. Please tell are these capsule hallal or haram. Can we take any medicines having gelatin shells ?

How the gelatine shell is made? And from which parts of which animal is it taken? Is it from Halal animals which are Islamically slaughtered or is it from Halal animals which are slaughtered un-Islamically? Or is it from Haram animals? Please, furnish the information with complete research, then only we can have a say.
