(Fatwa: 851=H/1429)
(1) Expert Ulama and scholars authorized of issuing Fatwa have gone to both the sides. Some of them opine that it is lawful and they say that shrimp is a kind of fish. Contrary to this, some have found out that it is neither a fish nor any of its kinds, so it is unlawful to eat it. According to us, one should avoid eating it, but if anyone eats then it is allowable for him.
(2) The best and referred Fatwa is that both the khutbas (sermons) should be delivered in Arabic language. It has been explained explicitly with proofs in Fatwa Mahmoodia Vol.2 and Fatwa Rahimiah Vol.1.
