What is the order of washing the face and beard during wudhu?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
What is the sequence of washing the face and washing the beard during wudhu? Whether beard should be washed along with face or it should be washed after washing face. Also how many times beard should be washed, that is, one time or three times? Of course, the portion of beard covering face is washed along with face, so my question is especially with reference to outside portion i.e. under chin or longer beard.

Answer

(Fatwa: 383/316/B=1433)

The beard shall be washed with face while performing wudhu. While washing face three times one would wash the beard three times along with it. If the beard is thick then it is enough to wash it from above. It is not necessary to enter water into it. If the beard is thin and the skin of the face is visible then it is fardh to wash till the roots. It is sunnah in case the beard is thick to do khilal (pass wet fingers) by inserting the fingers in the beard.
