Can girls attend co-ed schools after puberty?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com

Is it permitted for girls to go to co-educated school after the girls have reached puberty?

Also need to know if it is permitted to go to deeni classes if the teachign is done mixed with boys and girls as there is lot of mingling between boys and girls in the van and in the madrassa also, is there any age restriction for this?

Answer

(Fatwa: 202/L)

(1) It is unlawful for women to meet non-Mahram men without Hijab or mix with them:

قال اللہ تعالی: یدنین علیھن من جلابیبھن۔۔۔ قل للمؤمنین یغضوا من ابصارھم

The co-education system of colleges and universities is having a number of evils; therefore it is undoubtedly unlawful.

(2) Such deeni class which co-educates grownup boys and girls is unislamic and attending such class is not allowed.

(3) It is ordained to separate the bed of girls and boys when they reach ten years of their age. This implies that the boys and girls can learn together maximum to the age of ten years.
