Can villagers be convinced to allow a new mosque on the waqf land?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
ASSALAAMU A’LAIKUM,HAJRAT,after my fathers death, i got a piece of land on which,a portion of land I have made WAQF for MASJID. But there are more 2 MOSJIDS nearly that area. So, the villagers are not allowing for ONE MORE MOSJID. Then, what can i do with that portion of land? JAZAA KUMULLAAHU KHAIRAN.

Answer

(Fatwa: 1149/228=TL/1430)

When there are two mosques close to each other in your village and the villagers do not need a third one, then it is better to sell of the land and build mosque at a place where a mosque is needed or start any madrasa at the same place; since the land does not yet hold the rulings of a mosque.
