Does performing a Wudhu or Ghusl suffice when dealing with urine splashing on one’s body or clothing from a toilet?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
In regards english toilets. I live in England and in the main the toilets are always english. How should we protect ourselves from urin splashing on to us when we are sitting? does the water that splashes back on to our bottom when stool or urine hits the water affect our purity, do we need to ghusl or does wudhu suffice?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1018=760/H)

You should try to protect yourself as much as possible. However, if the water splashes back to your body or clothes then you should wash the affected area with water. It is not necessary to bath or to wash entire clothes. Later, only Wuzu is sufficient to pray Salah.
