Is it permissible to remarry one’s wife after giving two talaqs in writing 13 months ago?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have given two talaqs to my wife in writing almost 13 months back from here. First talaq was given and after a few months the second talaq was given in presence of two witnesses and a qazi. I have not given third talaq to her. Now with our mutual understanding, I want to remarry her. Is this permissible? If yes, what are the conditions for remarrying her?

Answer

(Fatwa: 1135/706/L=1432)

In the question mentioned above if you gave your wife one talaq and again before passing the iddah period i.e. before completing three menstruating period, you gave second talaq then two talaqs occurred on your wife. If both of you want to marry again you can do so but in future you shall have the right of only one talaq. If ever you will give your wife one talaq all the three talaqs shall take place on your wife and she shall become mughallazah bainah (irrevocably divorced) and haram for you.
