Can my wife offer salah if her clothes are dirty from our baby’s urine? What does the name “Syed Ayaan” mean?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
(1) My wife delivered a baby boy 3 months back, and she is breastfeeding our child, and she wants to offer daily five times of salah, but because the baby urinates a lot whole day, so while cleaning the baby and sudden our baby urinates in my wife’s cloth so for that reason she is not offering daily five times of salah. Please help us by providing the complete details whether she can offer salah in that state or not (If her clothes are dirty from our baby’s urine). (2) And please let us know the meaning of our child, our baby name is Syed Ayaan? Please remember us in your precious Duas.

Answer

(Fatwa: 314/257/B=1433)

(1) The mother of the child should keep some neat and clean clothes for salah. When the time of salah arrives, she should wash the place where the urine is smeared and change the clean clothes and offer salah. Or she should lay the child on thick bed and put a plastic under it. Thus the urine of the child shall be absorbed in it and the clothes of mother shall not get impure. Or dress the child pampers which are nowadays available and also known as huggies, thus the clothes of mother shall be saved from urine and stool. However it is not lawful for the mother to miss the salah due to the urine and stool of the child. It is necessary to offer five times salah.
(2) Sayyid means leader and Ayan means time and period. And if you spell Ayan (عيان) then it means visible and clear.
