My grandmother has done hajj for three times. Is it compulsory to give Qurbani every year for her after doing hajj? She is saving money for her umrah. So is this right not to give Qurbani and save money for umrah?
Answer
(Fatwa: 1999/1614/B=1432)
If your grandmother got time of 15 days or more to stay in Makkah up to the days of Qurbani then the Qurbani of home is wajib on her each year. She should appoint someone as wakil from her side who would perform it. She is collecting money for umrah, thus if on the completion of year she has 26000 rupees or more then Qurbani shall be wajib on her.
