Can a Muslim revert attend a family member’s baptism if wife refuses?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
As salamu alaikum, Please advise me is it permissible for a muslim revert to attending the baptism of a family member. With the view of keeping family ties (NB: not the church just the after celebrations), also if the wife refuses must she go if ordered by her husband. jazakAllah

Attending one’s religious programme amounts to supporting it, therefore it is unlawful for a Muslim to attend the religious programmes of people professing other beliefs.
