Is my wudu/ghusl valid with braces on for 3 yrs?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Urgent Please respond to my question as soon as possible as i may be praying without valid ghusl and wudu. My dentist has recently fitted braces to straighten my teeth, where they will remain for 3 years, the actual brackets have been glued on to the middle of each tooth, because of this water cannot reach the area where the adhesive has been applied. As I am a married woman I am now concerned that my ghusl and wudu for prayers is not valid. Please can you advise me regarding this matter. 1. Is my wudu and ghusl still valid 2. Can I still pray and recite Quran and go for Umra etc 3. Will I have to make all my prayers Qaza for 3 years once the braces are removed I await for your speedy response

(Fatwa: 594/554 =L1429)

If anything is stuck between the teeth that prevents water to reach therein, then it is necessary to take it out for obligatory ghusl (bath), otherwise ghusl will not be valid, but this is when taking out it is possible without so much difficulty. The braces fitted in your teeth and actual brackets glued to the middle of each tooth which are fixed, then if you make wudu and take a bath, your wudu and bath will be valid. With that wuzu and ghusl, you can offer salah, recite the Holy Quran, perform umarah and other prayers. And also, there is no qaza of the salah for the years the braces will remain therein.
