Q: I would like to know how does one determine the amount of Mehr a girl is entitled to?

A: A girl is entitled to the the mahr that she agreed upon. If nothing was agreed upon then she is entitled to mahr mithl. Mahr mithl is that amount which a girl from her fathers family who is similar in beauty, wealth and age would normally receive as mahr.
