Q: I take out sadqah everyday. Can this be put in the lillah box of the masjid or does it have to go to the poor?
A:The money in the lillah box in the musjid is normally used for the musjid expenses. So if the sadqah you take out daily is nafl sadqah then you may put that sadqah in the lillah box. However if it is waajib sadqah then that must compulsory be given to a poor person. Examples of compulsory sadqah are like if you made a vow to give sadqah or sadaqatul fitr etc.
