Graduation in Church Hall

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by CouncilofUlama.co.za

Q: A group of Muslim girls will be graduating from sewing classes. The Muslim teacher wants to have the graduation in a church hall. The students have to contribute towards the cost of the hall. Please advise as to whether it would be ok to attend or not.

A:It will be permissible to use this hall if there are no crosses and other Christian symbols in it. Although permissible, it would be best not to use it and refrain from attending such a place due to the spiritual contamination and harms found in such places.

Allah Ta’aala knows best.
