Q: Is marriage not valid without a Wali (guardian)? My nikah (marriage) is done without any Wali?
A. According to the Hanafi Madhab, Nikah of a Baalighah girl without a Wali is valid (Raddul Muhtaar V9 P342).
In the Shaafi’ee Madhab, a Wali is a condition for the validity of the Nikah (Mughniyul Muhtaaj V3 P147).
